The idea
Art in every new affordable home.
The Government is bringing Kenyan art into the homes and estates it builds. Every new Affordable Housing homeowner receives an original work by a Kenyan artist, with the story of the work. Artists are commissioned and paid a monthly stipend to make them. Kuta Zetu is where it starts.
- A work for every new homeMatched to a unit before handover: framed, ready to hang, with its story card and the artist's name.
- Artists commissioned and paidA monthly stipend for the works the programme commissions, paid into your Kuta Zetu wallet.
- Murals on the estatesWalls at housing estates and markets, commissioned site by site.
